An easy, wide, well graded trail suitable for novice hikers. It’s only 6.5 km in length with less than 200 m elevation gain. Also a great introduction to back country camping. In addition to campsites along the lake, there’s a cabin at Fish Lake that sleeps up to 18. It's first come, first serve so don't arrive after dinner on a summer weekend and expect to find an empty bed. The trail itself follows the Lussier River for most of the way, crossing Sayles meadow and travelling through thick forests before ending at Fish Lake. You can add an hour to your hike by walking around the lake. Some really energetic souls have even hauled in a canoe for an in depth look at the lake. Fish Lake is aptly named; it is fish shaped, and it is well known as a great spot for Dolly Varden and cutthroat trout. The ease of access means the area is a popular destination in the summer. If you are trying to avoid the crowds, a good option is to check out one of the many trails that start from Fish Lake and go deeper into the Park.
